Browning House has launched a Community Assessment service for the West Yorkshire area, that works with families in their own home or in an alternate venue; this area covers Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield.

This service will offer the same high quality service and approch as in our residential and day assessments at Browning House. As always, the well-being of children is our primary focus, and this is present throughout all facets of our assessment process:

• Providing an independent assessment to Children's Services and the Courts
• Placing great importance on maintaining open and timely communication with the professionals involved with the family
• Attendance of Browning House staff at relevant meetings in the local area

The service is designed to be fliexible and responsive to the needs of individual children and their parents/carers, and is available when other services may be closed e.g. during evenings or weekends. It will include observation, assessment and a programme that covers all aspects of a child's needs, parenting, protection and social skills. Where a Social Worker or the Courts have specific areas of concern, a tailored programme will be developed which will address these areas.
